Practice Areas & Experience: Mr. Barnes focuses his practice on real estate, litigation, and construction law. In the area of real estate law, Mr. Barnes advises clients on residential and commercial transactions, and he also handles litigation involving disputes over real estate, easements, and other related matters. Mr. Barnes has extensive experience in mortgage foreclosures and land contract forfeitures. He also handles landlord/tenant disputes, including eviction actions. With respect to construction law, Mr. Barnes can advise homeowners, contractors, or subcontractors of their rights under their individual construction contract and under Michigan’s Construction Lien Act. Mr. Barnes also has experience in estate planning and family law, including divorces and guardianships. Prior to joining Bittner, Hyrns, Daly & Riemland, P.C., Mr. Barnes clerked in the Allegan County 48th Circuit Court for the Honorable George R. Corsiglia. During law school, Mr. Barnes had internships with the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality and the Honorable Patrick M. Meter of the Michigan Court of Appeals.
